I'm a nature photographer. I just love to explore and sit and watch and listen to silence pierced by the song of a bird or the howl of a coyote.
When we visited Uganda in east central Africa our nature trips were very scheduled and a bit hectic. The wildlife was fantastic as we have seen in so many photographs.
What really moved me in Uganda were the people. We sped by thousands of them on the way to the National Parks where the big game was. The roads were undescribably bad...and dangerous. We had a great driver. So I set my Nikon with a wide angle lense at the highest shutter speed and basically set focus at infinity and shot away...composition could come later. Although I really never saw these people for more than a second they have become my dear friends and I have a mythical story about each of them. I took pictures of beautiful people who walk so artfully and upright.
